Occupational Therapists
Occupational Therapist Skills Checklist
By definition an Occupational Therapist is a health professional whose goal is to help people achieve independence, meaning and satisfaction in all aspects of their lives. They apply their specific knowledge to enable people to engage in activities of daily living that have personal meaning and value. An OT can also be specifically Hand Therapy Certified or Lymph Edema Certified. They develop, improve, sustain or restore independence with fine motor function in any person who has an injury, illness, disability or psychological dysfunction. Occupational Therapists consult with the individual and their family or caregiver to involve them in the evaluation and treatment plan. The OT’s goal is to support this individual back to optimal activities of daily living.
